CHALLENGES: Triad Strategies was created from the merger of two government relations firms in 2001. Their current office space at that time could not accommodate their growth, adequately support their office functions and desired teamwork, or properly reflect their brand as a "new and exciting kind of forward-thinking lobbying firm." A 10,000 square feet space that comprised a single floor of a downtown building was secured for their new offices. However, it was a narrow space and none of the existing partitions or building systems was suitable. SOLUTIONS: The constraints of the long and narrow space provided the opportunity for double loaded corridor with perimeter offices. A curvilinear ceiling, undulating corridors, and accent finishes provide spatial impact and minimize the linearity of the space. A variety of textures, ranging from solid surface counters to three different carpets and two vinyl wallcoverings, enhance the visual experience. Dramatic lighting fixtures and floating ceilings in the reception area effectively convey the firm's uniqueness and set the stage for productive client interaction. A centrally located "gathering area" serves as an informal lounge space which supports staff interactions. |
